New to dh-NOISE? The complete illustrated manual — getting started, slicing, the tracker, MIDI and more — is available online and built into the app.

Getting started

dh-NOISE is an Audio Unit (AUv3) plug-in — it runs inside a host music app, not on its own. Open your host (for example AUM, Cubasis, GarageBand or NanoStudio), add dh-NOISE as an instrument, and you're ready to load samples and build beats.

The complete manual is built into the app — tap HELP in the top bar, or read it online here.

Frequently asked questions

I installed it but can't find the app on my home screen.
dh-NOISE is a plug-in, so it doesn't open on its own. Launch a host app (AUM, Cubasis, GarageBand, NanoStudio…) and add dh-NOISE as an Audio Unit instrument.
How do I load a sample?
Tap a layer's Load button and pick an audio file (WAV, MP3, AIFF, FLAC, OGG, M4A or CAF) — or an Akai sampler CD-ROM image (.iso).
How do I slice a loop?
On the Samples page, press Detect to find slice points automatically, or tap the waveform to add them by hand. Each slice then plays from its own key.
My host's Freeze / Mixdown comes out silent.
Turn Host Sync ON in dh-NOISE before bouncing. An offline render is driven by the host's transport, so the tracker only plays during a bounce when Host Sync is on.
Which Akai discs are supported?
Akai S1000 / S3000-format sampler CD-ROMs, ripped to a plain .iso (cooked, 2048-byte sectors). Raw BIN/CUE rips won't load — convert them to .iso first.
